Backflow Assembly Testing, Reporting and Repair
Regular testing of a Backflow Assembly is an important and necessary step in the protection of the public water supply.
Local municipal codes require testing for new installations, for annual performance testing, and when substantial repair work is performed on the system. Your local water supplier will often send a reminder to have testing and reporting completed.
What is Backflow? Backflow is when contaminated water has reversed flow and enters clean water lines. It can occur at a cross-connection between clean and potentially dirty water and is typically caused by a significant change in water pressure—such as from a burst water main. The dirty water may contain hazardous materials like fecal waste, pesticides, or chemicals, and these materials can pose a serious health concern.
A Backflow Assembly must be properly installed. tested, and maintained to ensure that the clean water remains free of contamination.
Comal Irrigation is license and insured to assist with your backflow testing needs. I will come to your property and test the assembly to insure it is functioning as designed, make any repairs needed, and report the results to your municipality or water supplier.
